Holiday Spice Candied Nuts
Sugar and spice and everything nice... The warm fragrance and aroma of the holidays will FILL your home with this easy spice candied nuts recipe. I love the combination of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg - which are the same key spices for pumpkin pie. Yes, your house will smell like pie when you bake these! Make these NOW :). These are perfect as a stand alone snack, and also a DELICIOUS addition to salads. It's a tie between these nuts or my candied pecans as my favorite hostess gift lately...
Happy Thanksgiving! Hooray the holiday season is here! :)

Holiday Spice Candied Nuts
Adapted from Food&Wine and All Recipes
3 cups pecans (or mixed nuts, I used a cup each of pecans, almonds, cashews)
1 egg white, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prep a baking sheet lined with foil, lightly coated with oil or baking spray.
Whisk sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and cayenne together in a small bowl.
In a separate larger bowl, beat egg white until frothy, add nuts to coat. Then pour into spiced sugar bowl to coat. Pour onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 - 30 minutes, stirring midway.
Cool to room temperature before eating, about 20 min... The coating will become more crunchy as the nuts cool.

Lately, getting my craft on... I've been inspired by Pinterest. I made this wreath for under $10 using a foam wreath form, yarn, multi-colored felt (4 for $1!), and a little old school needle and thread. Maybe I'll post more project like this in the future... :)
